The Tuguegarao City Hall grounds was transformed into a scenery of colourful activities during the recently concluded Pavvurulun “AFI” Festival 2015 on August 5-15, 2015.
Pavvurulun is an ybanag term which means togetherness or unity and afi which means fire.
The Local Government Unit of Tuguegarao City, assisted by the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) spearheaded the mounting of the trade fair.
A total of 90 exhibitors from various provinces showcased their products during the 11-day fair with total sales of P2.3 Million.
Some National Government Agencies and Regional Line Agencies also participated in the fair and showcased their services and the products of their assisted clients.
Mayor Jefferson P. Soriano officially declared the festivities open through the cutting of the ribbon on the trade fair area. Engr. Neri D. Bueno, Regional Director of the Department of Public Works and Highways Region 02 was the guest of honor.
Alongside with the celebration, a two-day Diskwento caravan was conducted which generated total sales of Php. 315,919.00
Several products were made available to consumers during the caravan, offering a variety of goods at 10-50% discounted rates and prices.
