Former DOST Undersecretary Fortunato Dela Peña during the market rounds in Santiago City Public Market.

In close partnership with the Local Government Unit of Santiago City, market vendors associations and other line agencies, the Department of Trade and Industry awarded 15 Huwarang Tindahan in the recently conducted Revving –Up the I-MOVERS Project in Santiago City public market on August 28, 2015.

Former Department of Science and Technology Undersecretary Fortunato dela Peña was the keynote speaker of the event.

In his speech, he put emphasis on the factors to be considered in improving the market operations of Santiago City. Among these factors were systematic operations, finance, and marketing and the organization.

A market tour was conducted within the Santiago City Public market by the DTI Senior Trade and Industry Development Specialist Linda Tan, Vice Mayor Hon. Marcelino Cabucan, Jr. with Hon. Dela Peña and some LGU representatives.

The Gawad “Huwarang Tindahan”gives due recognition to business establishments in the public market that uphold the rights of consumers and practice ethical business.

New Evergood Mini-Market and bakery Supply, 14.) Top Trust Telecom and, 15.) Lucky Enterprise.
