The four (4) component activities of the OTOP Congress were 1.)Padday na Lima OTOP Regional Trade Fair, 2.) The Great Cagayan Valley OTOP Congress, 3.) The Great Cagayan Valley Financing Forum & Facilitation and 4.) 1st SME Roving Academy Graduation Rites, all held at the Activity Center of Brickstone Mall, Tuguegarao City, Cagayan.
On December 11, 2015, the Department of Trade and Industry Region 2 conducted the 8th Great Cagayan Valley OTOP Congress with the theme “Proud Ako sa OTOP ko... Sa Kaunlaran, Partner ko ito!” held at the Activity Center of Brickstone Mall, Tuguegarao City, Cagayan.
Component activities of the congress were the Padday na Lima OTOP Regional Trade Fair on December 10-16, 2015, OTOP Congress Proper on December 11, 2015, Financing Forum and Facilitation on December 15, 2015 in the morning as well as the 1st SME Roving Academy Graduation Riteson December 15, 2015 in the afternoon.
On December 10-16, 2015, the Padday na Lima OTOP Regional Trade Fairwasconducted with participating SMEs from Batanes, Cagayan, Isabela, Quirino, and Nueva Vizcaya. They promoted their exquisite products ranging from furniture and furnishings, wearables and accessories, fresh processed foods and ornamental plants and reaped total sales of Php. 1.5 M.
Mr. Pepito F. Fondevilla, president of the Padday na Lima Marketing Association, Inc. was present during the event together with Mr. John S. Hughes, volunteer Advisor of the Canadian Executive Service Organization (CESO) who served as the keynote speaker for the OTOP Congress proper on December 11, 2015.
Ms. Leovilda Tumaliuan, Chief of the Industry Development Division presented the 2014-2015 OTOP Accomplishments while the DTI provincial directors presented the 2015 Regional OTOP resolution.
New projects of DTI were also presented which includes the Negosyo Center, Great Women 2 Project, Progressive Operation of Women Entrepreneurship Revolution and the Greening the SME Value Chain.
Also part of the OTOP Congress proper was the Pagpupugay sa mga Huwarang inspirasyon ng OTOP, wherein persevering SMEs were recognized. Awards were categorized into Mentrepreneur, Womentrepreneur, Couple Entrepreneur, PWD Entrepreneur, OFW Entrepreneur, Senior Citizen Entrepreneur and Cooperatives and Associations.
