On December 10, 2015, the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Region 02, in partnership with the Department of Agriculture-Region 02, Philippine Carabao Center at the Cagayan State University and the Cagayan Valley Federation of Dairy Cooperatives conducted the Great Cagayan Valley Region 2nd Dairy Business Conference with the theme “Blending Inclusive Growth with Dairy Rural Industry Value Enhancements for Raised Sustainability (BIG DRIVERS)” at the Department of Agriculture-Region 02 Gymnasium, San Gabriel, Tuguegarao City, Cagayan.

With about 200 stakeholders in attendance, the conference focused on the value enhancements for the dairy industry in Cagayan Valley and the drivers for raising sustainability as contributory elements for realizing inclusive growth in the countryside.

Among the topics discussed were Efficient Forage Development and Pasture Management, Improving Dairy Herd Quality through Genetic Improvement, Management of Common Dairy Animal Diseases and Cow Signals, From Grass to Glass:  Sustaining Market through Food Safety and Traceability, Sustainability with Good Animal Husbandry Practices, Farm Business Wealth: Indicators of High Dairy Business Performance and Strategies for GHG Mitigation in Dairy Industry and Adaptation to Climate Change.
