On March 15, 2016, the Department of Trade and Industry region 2 was awarded a plaque of recognition for obtaining Maturity Level 2 in Performance Management System under the Program to Institutionalize Meritocracy and Excellence in Human Resource Management (PRIME-HRM) of the Civil Service Commission.

DTI –R02 regional director Atty. Ma. Esperanza C. Bañares received the award from CSC Cagayan-Batanes provincial field office acting director IIMs. Jovy T. Miguel. The awarding was held at the DTI NERBAC building right after the flag ceremony attended by DTI R02 provincial directors, DTI R02 personnel and some key officials of the CSC.

RD Bañares expressed her deep appreciation to CSC for providing assistance to DTI in all its undertakings in implementing the CSC’s human resource management systems and programs.

She said that the DTI R02 will continuously work together to promote people excellence in DTI as well as to further improve its overall operations to deliver more efficient and effective public service to its clients.

CSC assessed DTI’s maturity level on the aspects of competencies, systems, as well as the practices in the four HR systems namely: (1) recruitment, selection, and placement; (2) learning and development; (3) performance management; and (4) rewards and recognition. An online assessment was administered to a number of DTI personnel as part of CSC’s assessment procedures.

Ms. Miguel lauded DTI for its full commitment and for satisfactorily implementing the CSC human resource management systems.
