The Regional Welfare Office of the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) is tapping the service of the DTI-Cagayan’s Negosyo Center for business training and counselling under the Balik Pinas, Balik Hanapbuhay Program.
Under the OWWA program, OFW beneficiaries are given a grant of P10,000 as a capital for a small business. However, they are required to complete the Business Orientation, Counselling and Business Plan Preparation training before the funds for their business is released.
OWWA has arranged to send over batches of Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) for training. The first batch composed of 12 OFWs coming from various parts of Cagayan was trained on June 1, 2016. The next batch is scheduled on June 3, 2016 while succeeding batches are still being scheduled.
Mr. Winston T. Singun, Negosyo Center Coordinator serves as trainer. The lessons covered in the training include rudiments of starting a small business, simple bookkeeping and simple business planning.
