The Future Life and Livelihood Association (Fermada ARC) facilitated by Ms. Marietta G. Saet, local food processor, undergone an upgrading skills Steamed Rice Making Training on July 11, 2016 in San Fernando, Bambang.

The activity was a joint effort between the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Nueva Vizcaya Provincial Office under the Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program (CARP) represented by Mr. Bryan Lorenz L. Sudario and the Agrarian Reform Beneficiary Organization (ARBO).

This skills enhancement training was intended to improve the conventional or traditional flavour, taste and variety of steamed rice.

Ms. Saet, discussed the overview in food processing including the raw materials/ingredients to be used, proper sanitation, and good working environment.

After the activity, the organization successfully produced two (2) products which were: (1) steamed rice or “puto” and (2) rice pastillas, wherein the organization received some orders for the said products.

In attendance during the training were twenty one (21) members of the Fermada ARC.

The new acquired techniques can help the Fermada ARC to reach wider demographic market and to become one of the finest food processors of the province.
