The Small Business Corporation (SB Corp.), financing arm of the Department of Trade and Industry recently approved a Php 6.7 Million loan to support farmers and van transport operators in region 2 to generate additional fund in growing their crops and expanding their transport operations.

SB Corp. North Luzon Group Manager, Ms. Cynthia A. Tarroja signed the eight (8) loan applications on July 29, 2016 at the DTI Cagayan Negosyo Center.

Of the eight (8) approved loan accounts, six (6) were availed under the Public Transport Loan Program, intended for the acquisition of additional or replacement of unit/vehicle of van transport operators and two (2) loans were availed under the Pocket Farmers Lending Program, intended for the development or revival of high value crops farm.

These programs aims to assist MSMEs grow, graduate from being small enterprise and seize the emerging market opportunities by availing themselves of the different loan facilities offered by the SB Corp.

Opportunities under the SB Corp Programs have been extended to MSMEs in the Province of Cagayan since the establishment of the SB Corp.- Tuguegarao Desk Office last July 2015.  

DTI Cagayan Provincial Director Bernardino G. Mabborang expressed his support and commitment for continuous search of possible partner MSMEs in Cagayan to become beneficiaries of the programs of the SB Corporation.

PD Mabborang said that with the presence of these lending programs, it will contribute to the MSMEs rapid growth and more jobs generation in the province.
