The Turmeric processors of Pingkian Community Development Cooperative (PCDC) in Kayapa recently participated in the Food Management System training on July 22, 2016 in Nueva Vizcaya.

The activity was jointly organized by the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), and the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) in Nueva Vizcaya.

The training focused on assessing the current food management system of the organization to bring about a well – designed and thorough control measures on the production of their products. As an indispensable factor in the future success of their enterprise, ensuring the safety of their products through an established food management system is crucial. 

The topics discussed during the training were the Proper food handling, Sanitation and Personnel Hygiene. These areas contribute to the integration of a seamless process flow dedicated to guarantee food safety.

As an output, the participants were able to come up with a list of control measures for their food management system. The food processors vowed to strictly comply with these measures to produce high quality and safe products.
