On the recently conducted 2nd en banc session of the Batanes Protected Area Management Board on January 04, 2018 at the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources Conference Hall in Basco, Batanes, the Board discussed and approved the following: 1.) Quarrying within foreshore areas 2.) Proposed projects of the National Historical Commission of the Philippines 3.) Endorsement for the renewal of Deputation Order of the BPLS Wildlife Enforcement Officer (WEOs) and 4.) Adoption and approval of the BPLS-PAMB Work and Financial Plan for CY 2018.

Atty. Gil A. Aromin - Regional Executive Director of the Deparment of Environment and Natural Resources Region 02 chaired the meeting together with Batanes OIC PENRO Ilarde C. Viernes.     

DTI Batanes was also elected as one of the members of the Executive Committee representing the National Government Agency (NGA). The office was represented by Mr. Jonathan C. Gato duly appointed by DENR Secretary Roy A. Cimatu as a board member.

The Committee is expected to decide on requests and appeals in connection with the implementation of the Committee Board  Management Plan.

The inclusion of DTI in the Committee ensures that the Green Productivity initiatives shall also be observed by the affected SMEs which is crucial to environmental protection and sustainable development.
