The Department of Trade and Industry Regional Office 02 (DTI Region 02) and Canadian Executive Service Organization (CESO) , conducted a Midterm Evaluation Mission to Shared Service Cooperators in Alcala and Tuguegarao City, Cagayan on March 9, 2018.
DTI and CESO, a Canadian NGO, have had a lengthy and mutually beneficial partnership for over ten years. With the approval of the 2015-2020 Partnership Action Plan(PAP), the engagement is focused on enhancing the capacities of MSMEs and SSFs particularly in food processing sectors to operate more effectively and efficiently to generate revenue and provide a range of employment opportunities for both men and women.
CESO Lead Volunteer Advisor Bruce McPherson evaluated the Alcala Women Rural Improvement Club (AWRIC) in Alcala, and Integrated Farmers Cooperative and Lighthouse Cooperative in Tuguegarao City, Cagayan. Mr. Michael Paggabao, STIDS of DTI Regional Office 02 and Ms. Maria Liza A. Guzman, TIDS of DTI Cagayan assisted him during the visit.
“We need to identify the gapsin the operations of the Cooperators where DTI can provide assistance. It is important that we know their plans, particulalrly their marketing plans, or if they want to expand within 6 months or within one year. That way, DTI can come in and address these gaps, ” CESO LVA McPherson explained.
The findings of CESO LVA McPherson will be submitted to DTI Region 02 Management, and shall be the basis of the action plans to be prepared by DTI provincial offices.
