Provincial Director M. Sofia Narag of DTI-Quitino sits as member in the Provincial Risk Reduction and Management Council (PDRRMC) meeting on October 28, 2019, two days prior typhoon Rosita’s landfall. The meeting, which was convened by Provincial Governor and PDRRMC Chairperson Junie Cua, aimed to determine the appropriate response to and corresponding actions of concerned agencies, LGUs and stakeholders on the possible effects and impact of typhoon Rosita.

During the meeting, PD Narag committed that DTI-Quirino will intensify their regular price and supply monitoring of basic needs and prime commodities, construction materials and other products to ensure that no abuses and profiteering acts are incurred by owners of business establishments.

Meanwhile, on October 29, 2018, the day before the typhoon’s landfall, the DTI-Quirino staff and Negosyo Center Business Counsellors (NCBC), led by PD Narag, conducted intensive price and supply monitoring in the markets, hardwares and grocery stores and reminded business owners to comply with R.A. 7581 or the Price Act. So far, no violations were recorded, even during the monitoring after the onslaught of the typhoon.
