The Department of Trade and Industry Region 02 in coordination with the Provincial Government of Quirino conducted one run of the Balik Eskwela Diskwento Caravan last May 20, 2014 at the Capitol Gymnasium, Capitol Hills, Cabarroguis, Quirino.
The project which is aimed at providing access to the marginal consumers basic and prime commodities particularly school supplies, at discounted prices, were participated by 12 establishments: SAVEMORE MARKET, LAICOM, NFA, RAYMOND BEAUTY SALON, MAS DENTAL CLINIC, ISABELA BAGS, NATURAL SWISS FACIAL, ZENCO SALES, INC., TESDA MASAHISTA, MARIKINA SHOE EXCHANGE, VITA’S TOY TRADING AND DMAYA PLUS.
The caravan catered to the needs of about 271 registered buyers and came up with a cash sales of P73,639.80.
Flyers were distributed and streamers were installed to announce to the public the conduct of the event.
The activity also had side events like massage, dental services and beauty enhancement services at discounted prices too. Walk-in buyers were glad that even these kind of services were offered at discounted prices!
Locators of the Diskwento Caravan offered their products with discounts ranging from 10%-40% discounts. They also provided freebies like 1 kilo rice for every P1,000.00 worth of purchase from the Savemore Marketing; Buy 11 free 1; Buy 12 free 2 from Laicom sales and Buy 10 free 1 from DMAYA Plus. The establishments selling notebooks and pencils also provided the items as prizes for the instant raffle draw.
The people who went to the caravan expressed their satisfaction of the timely conduct of this kind of activity because they had the opportunity of buying the school supplies of their children before the start of classes at discounted prices!
