LGU-recipients of these timbangan ng bayan include the public markets in the following cities/municipalities: Mallig, San Guillermo, Echague, San Mateo, Alicia, San Mariano, Santiago City, Maconacon, Cordon, Aurora, San Agustin, Tumauini, Cabarroguis, Nagtipunan, Diffun, Maddela, Aglipay, Saguday, Bayombong, Kasibu, Kayapa, Aritao, Alfonso Castañeda, Diadi, Gonzaga, Baggao, Allacapan, Amulung, Sanchez Mira, Claveria, Tuguegarao City, Gattaran, Iguig, Tuao and Basco.

DTI-R02 is set to provide all the 93 cities and municipalities in region with at least one (1) Timbangan ng Bayan each within the year.

DC Henry Conel of DTI-R02 stressed that the project is intended to deter unscrupulous business establishments  from tampering their weighing scales and minimize or eradicate the problem of  avoid short-selling or short-weighing of some sellers.

The provision of Timbangan ng Bayan is a component of the new project initiated by the DTI2 called the Improve Market Operations for Vigilant, Efficient and Responsive Service (IMOVERS) project. It is a collaborative project of DTI and the LGUs towards creating a clean, green and safe market.
